Hi,

I'm Abdel Manan (amar jay).

Hey there, I'm Abdel Manan (you can call me Manan or amar jay).

I’m an engineer, an independent researcher, and a perennial student of engineering. I’m incredibly curious and happiest when I'm tinkering under the hood—whether that's training alternative ML architectures, breaking down computer vision pipelines, or replicating research papers just to find out the authors left out half the hyperparameters. My background covers everything from real-time communication pipelines to autonomous robotics, flight stacks, and navigation. Just don't ask me to use ROS; we have a complicated history.

Right now, my absolute focus is embedded systems. I’m deeply immersed in the Zephyr Project, spending my days on hands-on development and bringing my RTOS proficiency to its peak.

When I’m not at a desk debugging firmware, I’m usually reading up on technology history. I’m fascinated by the rise and fall of industrial giants, market-shaping decisions, and the sheer complexity of global supply chains and assembly line strategies. Keeping tabs on the markets keeps me grounded—and helps me figure out where to point my engineering efforts next.
